ISO 9001 and ISO 14001
Every five years all ISO standards are reviewed to establish if a revision is required to keep it current and relevant for the marketplace. With technologies advancing quickly ISO’s need to ensure that they keep pace and are fit for purpose.
All new standards follow the common High Structure Annex SL to ensure that they are compatible with other management systems.
ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 were revised in September 2015. Clients who are operating to ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 have until September 2018 to have transitioned to the new standards.
Although the deadlines seem a long way away companies should be making the transitional changes now to avoid running out of time and allowing their certificates to lapse. There is always a large group of companies that leave it to the last few months and end up being without their certification and having to begin the process of certification from scratch.
Forefront can support clients through the transition journey with a series of transition training courses for individuals or groups within organisations.
